An advanced placement student, Thorsten graduated from Brooks with a BA in Advertising/Illustration Photography in 1989. After graduation the real world of lighting and business education began, and Thorsten assisted commercial photographers in Los Angeles. Today Thorsten divides his time between teaching photography workshops and working on commercial photography projects. “I like to use color, lighting, and composition to create 3-dimensional images.” Often the simplest solution is already staring us in the face. Tim Schlecht was raised in St.Paul, MN and began photography in the 9th grade. He quickly discovered that he enjoyed photographing modern architecture and fine restaurants. Needing a break from the lengthy Minnesota winters, Tim moved to Miami and photographed residential homes for two magazines, Distinctive Homes and Luxury Homes. In 1993 Tim relocated to Seattle and began assisting several of Seattle's best architectural and advertising photographers. Since then, Tim has photographed many commercial and editorial projects for local magazines and architectural firms. When not traveling and photographing the Northwest, Tim may be spotted at great local dining establishments. Several of Tim's favorite projects include Borders Books, Bruce Webber Architects, Le Gourmand Restaurant, Mahlum Architects, Miller Condominium Marketing Group, Seattle Weekly, The Stranger, and Vitality Medispa & Wellness Center.
